McLean Mill 10K
March 29, 2026
Description

The new McLean Mill 10K, as organised by Ridge View Health & Performance, experienced a wonderful rebirth during the 2023 edition with a record crowd, which was treated to the best post-race atmosphere of the series.
Ridge View Health & Performance put together the best race yet in Port Alberni’s history. With the national historic site at McLean Mill as the start, finish, and backdrop, it’s an iconic location. With the shorter course, this will allow the Cedar 12K and Comox Valley RV Half Marathon to be the “over 10K events” for series points, meanwhile, the McLean Mill 10K will give runners an opportunity to score series points over a very doable distance.

Spring is in the Air
The likelihood of it being at least mild, if not warm is good for this April 7th date. Port Alberni is typically the warmest community on Vancouver Island. By this time of year, runners are seeking a warm event — this just may be the one.
Port Alberni — check out the bustling town
After racing, enjoy a Sunday afternoon in Port Alberni and browse the shops and cafes. April brings out many of Port Alberni’s features. Consider a trip to nearby Stamp Falls Provincial Park considered by many as one of the most beautiful settings on Vancouver Island. Or, visit Sproat Lake where you can find 800-year-old petroglyphs and even consider a cool down swim (okay, cold swim) in one of the most scenic lakes in British Columbia.
