Join us on Wednesday, May 13 at McLean Mill National Historic Site for the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Annual General Meeting.

Doors open at 11:00 a.m. | AGM begins at 11:30 a.m. | Wraps at 2:00 p.m. 

Lunch included with ticket.

The AGM will open with annual reports, board elections, and key business updates. After lunch, we're bringing in some of the sharpest economic minds on Vancouver Island to talk about what's actually coming for the Alberni Valley.

Keynote: Susan Mowbray, Economist and Partner, MNP Consulting Group

Susan presents the State of the Island Economic Report each year through the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance. At this AGM, she'll draw on VIEA's Economic Dashboard to deliver an outlook focused specifically on what those trends mean for us.

Panel Discussion

Local leaders from key sectors of our regional economy will respond to the data and share where they see opportunity ahead. Meet the panelists:

  • Jaimey van Morik Broekman: Tourism Development Specialist, Alberni Valley Tourism
  • Mike Carter: Co-CEO, Port Alberni Port Authority
  • Chief Councillor: Ken Watts, Tseshaht First Nation
